ISRO launches EOS-08 Earth Observation Satellite

New Delhi: ISRO launched its latest Earth Observation Satellite, EOS-08, at 9:17 hrs on 16 August 2024 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The spacecraft was launched by the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV)-D3, a PIB press release stated.

The EOS-08 mission will provide critical data for various industries including satellite-based surveillance, disaster monitoring, and environmental monitoring. It has a mission life of 1 year. The satellite has three payloads that will work together to achieve its mission goals.

The launch of EOS-08 marks a significant advancement in satellite mainframe systems such as the Integrated Avionics system, which combines multiple functions into a single unit.
