Chennai, Aug 27 (PTI) The Indian Coast Guard and the Vietnam Coast Guard have successfully concluded the second edition of the joint maritime exercise ‘SAHYOG HOP-TAC’ off the Chennai coast on Thursday, demonstrating a shared commitment to regional stability and maritime safety.
The strategic engagement featured a robust operational deployment comprising eight Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ships, six aircraft, and the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) ship CSB 8002, which were overseen jointly by the Director General, ICG and the Vice Commandant, VCG, an official release here said.
Designed to refine tactical interoperability and streamline search-and-rescue operations, the high-intensity drills allowed both forces to standardise emergency protocols and build seamless coordination at sea.
