New Delhi: An incarnation of Lord Krishna, a man who creates and breaks his own record, and a crown jewel of India — these are some of the praises that were heaped on Prime Minister Narendra Modi by top BJP leaders Thursday as he turned 70.

Tathagata Roy, former Meghalaya governor and former West Bengal BJP president, took to Twitter to wish Modi on his birthday, calling him an “incarnation of Lord Krishna who has arrived in this world to save good men and kill rogues” (sic).

Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said the PM creates and breaks his own records, while inaugurating a website and an e-book dedicated to Modi at the BJP headquarters in Delhi.

Aaj China aur Pakistan bhi samajj raha hai ki bharat kis metal ka banaa hai, kis chakki ka aata khaaya hai. Toh ye Modi ji ki kartoote ke kaaran lokpriyata hai (China and Pakistan have come to know India’s strength…this is all because of Modi),” Javadekar said.

He added, “Unka kisi se ya kisi virodhi dal se compeition hai hee nahi, wo khud apna hee record todke aage badhte hai desh seva mai (He is not competing with any individual or opposition party…he creates and breaks his own records).”

BJP president J.P. Nadda also released a book titled Lord of the Records that is based on 251 records created by PM Modi.

“Modi ji has boosted the country’s morale and everyone feels safe today because of him and sees him as a guiding force in moving forward,” Nadda said while inaugurating the book via video conferencing.

Govind Maloo, former media in-charge of Madhya Pradesh BJP, tweeted saying the prime minister was a crown jewel of the country.

‘Seva Saptah’, NaMo quiz, a 70-kg birthday cake

From virtual exhibitions to a quiz competition, the BJP also organised several events to celebrate the prime minister’s birthday.

The party had already launched a week-long drive called Seva Saptah (week of service) that was inaugurated by Nadda on 14 September. The theme for Seva Saptah is ‘seventy’ as PM Modi turned 70.

As part of the Seva Saptah drive, the party has decided to organise a cleanliness campaign and distribute fruits at 70 spots in each district, 70 blood donation camps in a number of states, and reach out to at least 70 specially-abled people. Apart from these, the party will also conduct 70 virtual rallies.

Party chief Nadda distributed pulse oximetres, tricycles, hearing aids and wheelchairs to people with disabilities at a public gathering in Chandni Chowk later in the day Thursday.

BJP also urged people to wish the prime minister through the NaMo app and take the ‘Know Namo’ quiz that will have questions on Modi and the BJP. Winners will be rewarded with books autographed by the PM.

The Delhi unit of BJP, meanwhile, celebrated PM’s birthday by cutting a 70-kg cake at the India Gate.

  1. Calling Modi an incarnation of Krishna is absolute nonsense. None of these guys know the personality of Lord Krishna. There are many meat eaters among BGP politicians. They should first renounce meat eating to be considered civilised.

  2. Time to build a new temple somewhere? Ahemedabad or Varanasi? Better still if there is an opportunity to first demolish some structure and then make the temple.
