Shimla, Jul 25 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh police have arrested five individuals involved in five cyber financial fraud cases from various states, recovering over Rs 14 lakhs, police said on Saturday.
According to police, the action was carried out by three special investigation teams of the Cyber Crime Police Station, Northern Range, Dharamshala, who were deputed to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Karnataka to identify and dismantle cyber crime networks involved in financial fraud.
The police said that in connection with a Rs 32 lakh fake investment fraud reported in May 2026, a team conducted a raid in Karnataka’s Electronic City Police Station area in Bengaluru and apprehended an accused from Karnataka and recovered Rs 7 lakh from him.
In another case of a Rs 8 lakh fake investment fraud reported in March 2024, another team apprehended the accused account holder from Delhi and recovered Rs 5 lakh.
In connection with a Rs 50 lakh fake investment fraud reported in December 2025, another team apprehended one accused on July 18 and recovered Rs 2.7 lakh.
In addition, the investigation teams arrested two more accused account holders from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra and another from East Delhi in separate fake investment cyber fraud cases.
After their apprehension, notices under Section 35(3) of the BNSS were duly served upon the accused in accordance with the provisions of law. PTI/COR SHS
