Jaipur, Apr 22 (PTI) Members of Hindu outfits on Wednesday held a protest in Udaipur against the alleged guidelines issued by eyewear company Lenskart for its employees.
Groups of Vishwa Hindu Mahasabha and Shri Ram Sena members reached a Lenskart showroom in Udaipur, raised slogans and alleged that the company had advised employees to limit the use of sindoor and bindis, as well as religious symbols such as tilak.
As part of the protest, they applied tilak and put ‘kalava’ (thread on the wrist) on employees present at the showroom.
Vikas Gaur, representing Vishwa Hindu Mahasabha, alleged that the company had introduced rules restricting employees from wearing religious symbols such as kalava and tilak, and advised female staff to limit the use of sindoor and bindis.
He termed the alleged decision one “against religious traditions”.
Another member, Umesh Nagda, also criticised the move.
“Such anti-Hindu acts and biases cannot be tolerated,” he said. PTI SDA PRK
