Hamirpur (HP), Feb 8 (PTI) The construction of four-lane connecting Kiratpur near the Punjab-Himachal border to Nerchowk in Mandi district has reached final stage.

Five small and big tunnels and 22 main and 14 small bridges are being constructed on this stretch, said Deputy Commissioner Bilaspur Pankaj Rai.

The construction of this four-lane will reduce the time of travel and shorten the distance from Bilaspur to Kainchi Mor to 22 km only.

Currently, the distance between Bilaspur to Kainchi Mor is 50 km.

Rai said that out of 22 main bridges, about 17 bridges have been completed and 5 major bridges are under construction, of which about 80 percent of work has been completed.

Apart from this, all the minor bridges have been constructed, he said.

Reviewing the development works of under-construction Kiratpur-Nerchowk four-lane, the DC instructed the officials of the Gabar Company (entrusted with the construction work) to construct all the roads damaged during the construction of this stretch and said that officials of the Public Works Department will prepare the report of damaged roads and send them to the company.

The DC also held a meeting with the people related to land acquisition and the officials of Gabar Company.

He assured the people that compensations would be provided as per the laid down rules. PTI COR BPL FZH
