Himachal: Man’s body found in river in Sirmaur

Nahan (HP), May 11 (PTI) The body of a 38-year-old man was found floating in the Jalal river near Renuka Ji pilgrimage site in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur on Monday, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Rameshwar, a resident of Palyadi village of Kasauga Panchayat of Renuka Ji area.

Some locals who were passing by the area spotted a man lying beneath the bridge situated adjacent to Dadahu town and immediately reported the matter to the Renuka Ji police.

Upon receiving the information, a police team arrived at the scene and took custody of the body. The police subsequently arranged for a post-mortem examination of the body and handed it over to the family members for the final rites.

Confirming the incident, Superintendent of Police Sirmour Nischint Singh Negi said that a case has been registered and further investigations are going on.

The police are currently investigating the case, considering all relevant aspects. The exact cause of death is expected to become clear once the post-mortem report is received, police added. PTI COR BPL APL APL
