In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Cabinet approved engaging 4,090 para-workers, including para pump operators, para fitters, and multipurpose workers, in the Jal Shakti Vibhag. The Cabinet also approved a policy for engaging assistant forest guards, paving the way to fill 500 posts in the forest department.

It decided to affiliate 100 more schools with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for which a new scheme will be prepared. A statement said it also approved filling 3,900 teaching and 900 non-teaching posts in these schools under the new scheme-based recruitment.

The Cabinet approved increasing the monthly honorarium for Anganwadi workers from Rs 10,500 to Rs 11,500, for Anganwadi helpers from Rs 5,800 to Rs 6,800, and for Van Mitras from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000.

The Cabinet approved cancelling the allotment for 33 small hydroelectric power projects, each with an installed capacity under 5 MW, because the developers were not serious about pursuing them. It decided to provide a special relief package to disaster-affected families in Boh Valley, Kangra district. It also approved the allotment of nine ecotourism sites for undertaking ecotourism activities.

It also constituted a sub-committee, chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, to formulate comprehensive guidelines for regulating the transfer of State Government employees to their home districts and within the same district. The Cabinet approved guidelines for the design, construction and certification of ambulance link roads, formally recognising them as a separate category to facilitate road connectivity to the maximum possible extent.

It decided to amend the provisions governing cash awards for medal-winning Indian teams at international-level sporting events and to create posts for District Youth Services and Sports Officers (DYSOs) for international-level medal winners. Under the revised provisions, the cash award may be distributed equally among all eligible sportspersons from Himachal Pradesh who are part of the medal-winning Indian team, with each receiving the same amount prescribed for an individual medal winner.

The Cabinet also approved increasing assistance under the Milk Incentive Scheme from Rs 3 to Rs 6 per litre, benefiting thousands of farmers. The statement said government departments will now be required to procure their milk and milk product requirements from Milkfed.

It approved an additional Rs 603 crore in funding to continue and scale up project interventions in ongoing and adjoining Gram Panchayats under the Integrated Development Project for Sustainability and Climate-Resilient Rainfed Agriculture in Solan district.

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
