Bhiwani, Sep 6 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Sunday that the “double-engine” government is accelerating Haryana’s development at a triple pace.
Addressing a “Vikas Sankalp” rally in Bawani Khera, Saini presented a detailed roadmap for the comprehensive development of the area.
On the occasion, Saini inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of seven development projects worth approximately Rs 78 crore.
Saini emphasised that the BJP’s double-engine government, at both the Centre and in Haryana, is now driving the state’s development at an accelerated pace.
Addressing the crowd, the chief minister reiterated his commitment to the bright future of Bawani Khera.
He highlighted that over the past 12 years, development works worth over Rs 1,446 crore have been completed in the Bawani Khera constituency, compared to only Rs 609.58 crore during the previous Congress government’s 10-year tenure.
Saini pointed out several significant development initiatives in the area over the last 12 years. The Bhiwani-Hansi section of NH-148B has been completed at a cost of Rs 1,322 crore, while NH-709A was constructed for Rs 749 crore, he said.
The Bhiwani-Khark section of NH-709E has been converted into a four-lane road for Rs 169 crore. Doubling of the Manheru-Bawani Khera railway line is underway at a cost of Rs 413 crore, of which 12 kilometres of work has been completed.
Describing farmer welfare as the government’s top priority, Saini noted that 24 crops are being procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) in Haryana. So far, Rs 1,86,000 crore has been directly transferred to the accounts of 12 lakh farmers for crop procurement. Furthermore, in the past 12 years, farmers have received Rs 16,160 crore in compensation for crop losses, he said.
Saini also announced that under the policy of providing government jobs without “kharchi-parchi” (bribes or recommendations), more than 2 lakh youths have secured government employment in Haryana. With the new Haryana Progressive MSME Policy-2026, the government aims to attract an investment of Rs 55,000 crore and create over 5 lakh new job opportunities.
He highlighted the “Haryana Uday” programme under the anti-drug campaign, noting that marathons, cyclothons, and seminars are being organised in all districts, coupled with strict actions against drug traffickers.
Haryana Women & Child Development, Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Shruti Choudhry said that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Saini, is continuously working for the welfare of the state and the interests of every section of society.
“Due to the special efforts of the chief minister, a major transformation is set to take place in Haryana’s irrigation system. With the assistance of the World Bank, an amount of Rs 6,000 crore will be spent on the reconstruction of all major canals, channels and other irrigation infrastructure in Haryana, ensuring water reaches all tail-end areas of the state,” she said.
Additionally, works on the Butana Branch and Sunder Branch have been approved at costs of Rs 211 crore and Rs 190 crore, respectively. The government’s objective is to ensure adequate water availability for farmers and people of the region and further strengthen the irrigation system, she said.
