Chandigarh, Sep 10 (PTI) Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi on Thursday reviewed the district-wise action plans for the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, stressing that its success should be measured by tangible changes on the ground and active participation of people rather than merely the number of programmes held.
The campaign, being organised from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service, will see activities across all 23 districts of Haryana, an official statement said.
Rastogi called upon deputy commissioners and district administrations to ensure that the campaign becomes a vibrant public movement with visible and meaningful participation of citizens.
The chief secretary reviewed the preparations and proposed activities of the districts under the campaign, which seeks to bring government initiatives, public service, social participation and development activities together on a common platform.
He directed the district administrations to ensure close coordination among all concerned departments and make effective arrangements for activities related to public welfare, sanitation, environmental protection, education, health, innovation and community participation.
Under the month-long programme, a Namo Marathon will be organised in Ambala district on September 17, while a blood donation camp and a drone show will be held in Kurukshetra district on the same day.
Calling for a coordinated approach, Rastogi said officers must work beyond departmental boundaries and ensure that the campaign becomes a collective effort involving government institutions, educational establishments, local bodies, panchayats, social organisations and citizens.
He said administrative secretaries must regularly monitor the activities assigned to their respective departments to ensure effective implementation.
“The objective should be to ensure that the campaign leaves a visible and lasting impact at the grassroots. Every district must work with innovation, coordination and commitment so that people themselves become active partners in the journey of development,” Rastogi said.
The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be observed from September 17, Modi’s birthday, to October 17 and aims to mark his 25 years in public life. Modi began his tenure as the chief minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001. PTI SUN NB NB
