Gurugram, Aug 28 (PTI) The body of a cab driver was found hanging in a deserted, vacant warehouse on Badshahpur-Teekli Road on Friday, with initial investigation suggesting it to be a case of suicide.
The deceased has been identified as Sukhbir, a native of Etah, Uttar Pradesh. He was living with his wife and two children in the Sneh Vihar colony of the Bhondsi area, according to police.
Though the initial probe is pointing towards suicide, the actual cause of death will only be clear after the completion of the investigation, a senior police officer said.
So far, the probe has revealed that Sukhbir had arrived alone at the warehouse. He made a noose using his car’s fan belt and hung himself from the ceiling.
After some time, the belt snapped, causing the body to fall on the floor. During the search, an empty liquor bottle, a glass, and a packet of snacks were found near the body. No suicide note was recovered from the scene, they added.
According to his family, Sukhbir drove a cab, and he had purchased a new car about three months ago.
“We are now examining his mobile call details and other technical data. The body has been handed over to the family following the post-mortem,” the police officer added. PTI COR AMJ AMJ
