Gunshot fired on posh central Delhi road; man rushed to hospital on scooter

New Delhi, Jun 18 (PTI) A 51-year-old man was shot and wounded on central Delhi’s Tughlaq Road on Thursday night, police said.

The firing was reported around 9.45 pm in the jurisdiction of Tughlaq Road Police Station, they said.

Md Rafiq, a resident of the Sunder Nursery area, was found with a gunshot wound by some locals who called the police and rushed him to a hospital on a scooter, police sources said.

The exact circumstances leading to the firing and the identity of the assailants are yet to be ascertained.

The police are scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the shooter.
