Ahmedabad, Aug 28 (PTI) Gujarat Director General of Police (DGP) G S Malik on Friday celebrated Raksha Bandhan here with members of a local ‘She Team’, a specialised unit of women police officers.
Women personnel of Ahmedabad’s Gujarat University Police Station ‘She Team’ tied a Raksha Sutra around the DGP’s wrist.
“On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the ‘She Team’ tied a Rakhi as a symbol of affection, trust and protection. Their warm gesture reflects the strong bond between the police and society,” Malik wrote on X.
“The She Team is also playing a commendable role in serving and supporting senior citizens, further strengthening the spirit of care, security and compassion in our community,” he added.
The team also visited the homes of senior citizens, high-ranking police officers and retired police officers across the state and tied Rakhi to everyone, an official release said. PTI KVM NP
