Narmada (Gujarat), Oct 17 (PTI) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Saturday visited Ekta Nagar in Narmada district to review preparations for National Unity Day celebrations to be held on October 31 to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The CM, who visited Ekta Nagar for the launch of ‘Ekta Prakash Parv-2026’, held a review meeting at Arogya Van, an official release said.

He obtained detailed information about various programmes planned as part of the National Unity Day celebrations, their organisation and administrative arrangements, and issued necessary directions, it added.

Patel also inspected the venue for the main National Unity Day parade as well as arrangements for visitors.

After the inauguration of Ekta Prakash Parv-2026, Patel interacted with tourists and posed for photographs and selfies with them.

“It is my birthday today, and taking a selfie with Gujarat’s chief minister made my day memorable,” Swati Srivastava, a Varanasi resident visiting the imposing Statue of Unity, was quoted as saying in the release. PTI KVM BNM

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
