The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has notified the guidelines for the implementation of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme under the Mode 1 Tranche-II, a PIB press release stated.
With an aim to promote the production of green hydrogen, the government has decided to provide incentives to the companies that adopt green hydrogen technologies.
The total capacity of the SIGHT Scheme under Mode 1 Tranche-II is 450,000 TPA, with 40,000 TPA reserved for biomass-based pathways and the remaining 400,000 TPA for technology-agnostic pathways. The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) will play the role of the implementing agency for the SIGHT Scheme under Mode 1 Tranche-II.
The bidding process for the SIGHT Scheme under Mode 1 Tranche-II is expected to start soon. The bidding will be based on the least average incentive quoted by the bidder. The minimum bid for the green hydrogen production in Mode 1 Tranche-II is 10,000 TPA, while the maximum bid is 90,000 TPA.
