Lucknow, Sep 6 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday assured people affected by floods in several districts that they were not alone and that the double-engine government was standing with them.
Ahead of his visit to flood-affected Chitrakoot district, Adityanath shared a reel on Instagram in which he spoke about the relief and rescue operations being carried out in the affected areas.
“Due to heavy rainfall, flood-like conditions have emerged in some districts of the state. The government is working with full speed to provide assistance to the people,” he said.
The chief minister said he was personally visiting flood-affected areas to assess the situation and review relief and rescue operations.
Ministers of the state government were also visiting affected areas, meeting people and distributing relief material, he said.
The government was also working towards finding a permanent solution to the problem of floods, Adityanath said.
The chief minister said he had already visited flood-affected areas in Ballia, Farrukhabad and Varanasi and was travelling to Chitrakoot on Sunday.
“Serving the people is not merely a government responsibility; it also means standing with them in their happiness and sorrow,” he said.
Addressing flood victims, Adityanath said, “Do not consider yourself alone in this hour of crisis. The government is completely with you.” “Ensuring the safety of every person, delivering relief to every affected family and helping those in need is the government’s first priority,” he stressed.
