Jayant Mammen Mathew elected president of Indian Newspaper Society

The executive editor of Malayala Manorama will take over from Akila Urankar of Business Standard.

The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) will be headed by Jayant Mammen Mathew for the year 2018-19.

Mathew, executive editor of Malayala Manorama, was elected president Friday. He will succeed Akila Urankar of the Business Standard.

Other office-bearers elected include Shailesh Gupta of Mid-day (deputy president), L. Adimoolam of Dinamalar (vice-president), and Sharad Saxena of Hindustan Times (treasurer).

A 41-member executive committee has also been elected.
