Experts from central and state ministries will prepare a report for government with suggestions from conclave discussions.

Days before the first anniversary of demonetisation and the push towards digitisation by the Narendra Modi government, top government officials and experts will come together in New Delhi Tuesday to discuss how digital mobility can be given a boost.

The conclave – ‘Mobility Solutions for Centre & States’ – is being organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) to explore ways in which technology can be used to better digitise sectors like e-governance, healthcare, agriculture, public distribution, and consumer affairs.

It will also explore social and digital innovations which can increase rural inclusion and growth. ThePrint is the media partner of the conclave.

The conclave aims to create a roadmap to have the whole of India connected to the ‘Internet of Things’, a concept in which a range of gadgets and appliances are connected to the internet with easy user access. The concept initially gained popularity during the drive to create smart cities, which rely on processes being interconnected.

Top central and state government officials will take part in the discussions at the conclave and hope to gain from it considering governments at the centre and in the states have taken several processes online and are actively advocating a system of e-governance to deliver services efficiently.

Atul K. Thakur, deputy secretary at PHDCCI, said the conclave aimed to work towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of having a ‘New India’ by 2022 and its “timing is crucial because we can lay down a five-year plan to achieve complete technological mobility.”

The outcome of the conclave will be compiled into a report and submitted to the government. “Hopefully, if we utilise these solutions, we can have a more efficient India,” said Thakur.
