New Delhi: With India reporting coronavirus clusters in multiple states, the government has devised a containment strategy to try and limit the spread of the disease and similar diseases.
More than 4,000 cases have reported so far, with clusters emerging in Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, Telangana and the union territory of Ladakh. As many as 211 districts have Covid-19 cases and the risk of further spread remains very high.
The WHO had declared the disease a pandemic on 11 March. It has advised countries to take a whole-of-government, whole-of-society approach, built around a comprehensive strategy to prevent infections, save lives and minimise impact, the Centre’s plan notes.
