Panaji, Apr 26 (PTI) The results of the Goa board’s class 10 examination, declared on Sunday, showed girls have outperformed boys, with an overall pass percentage of students 94.51 per cent.
Addressing a press conference, Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) chairman Bhagirath Shetye said that out of 20,618 students who appeared for the examination conducted in March, 19,486 have successfully passed.
He said girls outperformed boys in this year’s results, recording a pass percentage of 96.51 per cent compared to 94.37 per cent among boys.
Shetye said that the results also indicated strong performance across social categories, with students from the OBC category recording the highest pass percentage at 98.36 per cent, followed by Scheduled Tribe (ST) students at 97.38 per cent, General category students at 95.17 per cent, and Scheduled Caste (SC) students at 94.38 per cent.
Divyang (differently-abled) candidates also recorded an impressive performance, with 543 out of 550 students passing the examination, resulting in a pass percentage of 98.73 per cent, he said. PTI RPS NSK
