Ghaziabad: Vendor dies, aide injured in balcony collapse

Ghaziabad (UP), Jun 19 (PTI) A third-floor balcony with iron railings collapsed on Thursday in the Shalimar Garden Colony of Ghaziabad’s Trans-Hindan area, resulting in the death of a vegetable vendor and serious injuries to his associate standing below, police said.

The two men, identified as Saleem (60) and Ayyub (60), sustained severe injuries and were immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Shalimar Garden, Atul Kumar Singh, said Saleem was taken to the District Government Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Ayyub has been admitted to a hospital in Delhi and is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries, he added.

Following the incident, personnel from the Shalimar Garden police station and the fire brigade arrived at the scene. They cleared the debris and normalised the traffic flow in the area, said the officer. PTI COR CDN KSS KSS
