New Delhi: The Supreme Court Tuesday ordered a floor test to be conducted in the Maharashtra Assembly Wednesday, 27 November.
In its order, the apex court said it was “necessary to pass interim order for floor test to determine majority in Maharashtra in order to uphold democratic values and citizen’s right to good governance”.
The three-judge bench hearing a petition filed by Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress who had argued for an immediate floor test ordered immediate appointment of a pro-tem Speaker for the purpose. The floor test would be telecast live.
It also ordered for the oath of elected representatives to be administered before 5 pm Wednesday, after which the pro-tem Speaker would begin the floor test.

Unlike the swearing in, the proceedings in the House will be telecast live. Hopefully, by Doordarshan, not ANI.
