Lucknow, Aug 25 (PTI) A delegation of nearly 70 senior government officials and civil society representatives from Kenya, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa and Senegal is in Ghaziabad to understand foundational literacy and numeracy reforms in India under the NIPUN Bharat Mission, officials said on Tuesday.
The delegation observed classroom teaching at the Parishadiya Vidyalaya to understand the ground-level implementation of the NIPUN Bharat policies, the Uttar Pradesh government said in a statement.
The NIPUN Bharat Mission is a national programme launched in 2021 by the Ministry of Education to ensure that every child attains foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Grade 3 by 2026-27.
Under the week-long peer-learning immersion programme being conducted from August 23 to 27, the delegation was divided into smaller groups and taken on visits to 11 schools across the Nagar, Rajapur, Loni and Muradnagar blocks of Ghaziabad, the statement said.
The representatives observed the teaching-learning process in classrooms and interacted with students, teachers, principals, academic resource persons (ARPs) and officials of a state resource group.
The delegation’s visit to the Parishadiya Vidyalaya provided an opportunity for international shared learning on the process to take foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) reforms under the NIPUN Bharat Mission from the policy level to the classrooms, the statement said.
Through direct observation of classroom teaching and technical discussions with education officials, the representatives gained a close understanding of the ground-level implementation of FLN reforms, it said.
