New Delhi, May 27 (PTI) Three people were rescued from a fire that erupted in a factory in West Delhi’s Udyog Nagar area on Wednesday night, officials said.

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received a call about the blaze at around 8.53 pm from a factory located in the Udyog Nagar industrial area, they said.

Three water tenders and three water bowsers were rushed to the spot initially, they said.

At around 9.30 pm, by which time the blaze had been put out, three people, one of them a woman, had been rescued by the DFS personnel from the factory and taken to a hospital.

An additional water bowser was later requisitioned to assist in the operation.

On Wednesday, the DFS attended 256 calls, including 214 fire-related incidents, from across the city, according to official data.

Of these, 63 calls were related to rubbish fires.

Animal rescue calls stood at 14, and bird rescue calls at four.

The department also responded to one drowning rescue case, two mock drill calls, seven human rescue calls, one road accident case, six special job calls and seven standby calls, the data showed. PTI SGV VN VN
