Ballia (UP), Sep 23 (PTI) Police have registered a case against a man for allegedly using photographs of a 17-year-old Class 12 student from her Instagram account to create an obscene video using artificial intelligence and circulating it among her classmates, friends and relatives, officials said on Wednesday.
According to the FIR, the accused, a resident of Bansdih town, allegedly created a fake Instagram account using a name similar to that of the student, who lives in a village under the Bansdih Kotwali area.
He allegedly misused photographs available on the student’s Instagram account and used AI technology to create an obscene video, which was then sent to her classmates, friends, acquaintances and relatives, the police said.
When the student’s family members questioned him about the matter, the accused allegedly threatened to kill them, according to the FIR.
Bansdih Kotwali Station House Officer Rakesh Singh said a case has been registered against the accused under relevant provisions of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
