Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 30 (PTI) A high-profile business delegation from Estonia, led by the country’s Ambassador Marje Luup, visited the Technopark here on Thursday in an attempt to explore possibilities of collaboration and investment in various domains, including e-governance, e-health and space.

Seeram Sambasiva Rao, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Kerala government, held discussions with Luup and representatives of various sectors from Estonia, a state government release said.

Claiming that Kerala’s developed service sector was a model for the country, Sambasiva told the delegation that the state was focusing on promoting investment, especially from the private sector in technology, by leveraging the robust ecosystem it offers, the release said.

“The industrial policy of the government has identified 22 priority sectors, which are environment-friendly. Startups and universities in Estonia have good opportunities in Kerala to establish tie-ups with their counterparts in the state and share ideas,” he is quoted as having said in the release.

Delineating Estonia’s e-governance and technology initiatives, Luup expressed admiration for the initiatives like e-governance implemented in Kerala, the release said.

“Estonia is keen to build collaborations with startups and companies in the state since we have success stories in cybersecurity and AI. We have been bringing startups to India for quite some time for exposure.

“Kerala’s vibrant ecosystem and progressive technology domains, including the space sector, are very impressive,” she said. PTI HMP ADB
