ESIC recruits 1221 doctors, boosting healthcare services

General duty medical officers, assistant professors, and specialists join the team.

New Delhi: The Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESIC) has recruited 1221 doctors in the last two months to provide healthcare facilities under the scheme. This includes 860 general duty medical officers (GDMOs), 330 assistant professors, and 31 specialists, a PIB press release stated.

The ESIC said in a release that the UPSC has conducted the examination process for 1930 number of vacancies in the nursing cadre. The recruitment process of 20 junior engineers (electrical) and 57 junior engineers (civil) has also been completed and appointment letters have been issued to these on the recommendation of the UPSC.

The ESIC provides social security benefits including cash benefits and medical facilities to those insured and their dependents through its vast network of ESI hospitals and dispensaries.
