New Delhi, Apr 23 (PTI) The two-day “Undergraduate Research and Entrepreneurship Exhibition 2026” (UGREE) conducted by the University of Delhi (DU) concluded on Thursday, showcasing research and innovation by fourth-year undergraduate students under the framework of the National Education Policy 2020.
A total of 480 students participated in the exhibition, with 387 presenting research posters, 48 delivering oral presentations and 45 showcasing entrepreneurial projects. Students demonstrating outstanding performance were felicitated at the closing ceremony.
Presiding over the event, Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh announced that starting next year, the credits allotted for dissertations, academic projects in entrepreneurship, and similar endeavours for students enrolled in the FYUP (Four-Year Undergraduate Programme) would be increased from 6 to 10, while the number of elective papers would be reduced by one.
This measure will enable students to focus more on research projects, he added.
Director of the Inter-University Accelerator Centre, Avinash Chandra Pandey, who attended as the chief guest, said DU has emerged as a role model in implementing the four-year undergraduate programme under NEP 2020.
“When work on the FYUP began, Delhi University stepped forward to implement it. Today, the results are visible in the form of this exhibition,” he said, urging students to work on global challenges such as climate change and net-zero emissions.
V-C Singh said around 60 per cent of students opted for the fourth-year programme in the current academic session, adding that the exhibition reflects the growing emphasis on research and innovation in undergraduate education.
DU Registrar Vikas Gupta delivered the welcome address and highlighted the implementation of NEP 2020 and the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) 2022 at the university.
Dean of Academics, K Ratnabali, offered the vote of thanks. Several deans, directors, principals, faculty members and students attended the event. PTI AHD AHD ARB ARB
