New Delhi, Apr 20 (PTI) The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) on Monday launched a special campaign to check rash driving, enforce bus-lane discipline and curb violations by bus staff across the city.

The campaign will be conducted during morning and evening shifts on a random basis, officials said.

“A special checking campaign has been initiated to ensure safe and smooth operation of buses. During this campaign, any irregularities like smoking by bus crew, cleanliness inside bus, ticketing violations will be specifically monitored and appropriate action will be taken against those found violating the rules,” DTC in a statement said.

According to the corporation, passenger-related violations such as overcrowding, overloading and travel using fake passes will be under watch.

“Traffic and operational issues, including rash driving, improper parking, non-adherence to bus-lane discipline and operation on unauthorised routes, will also be checked,” it added.

Other key areas of enforcement include safety violations, such as not stopping at designated bus stops and operating buses with doors open.

“Misconduct inside buses, including playing music or smoking by bus crew,” the statement added.

The drive will also focus on cleanliness and the overall condition of buses, along with compliance by crew members regarding uniform and ticketing practices.

“Ticketing-related violations, including ticket-less travel, improper use, non-use of electronic ticketing machines and non-acceptance of National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) cards,” DTC further said.

The corporation appealed to passengers and staff to follow rules and cooperate in ensuring a safe, orderly, and comfortable travel experience. PTI SSM SSM SKY SKY
