Latur, Sep 30 (PTI) The Latur administration has prohibited fodder transportation to other districts amid a drought-like situation.
The Maharashtra government on September 26 declared drought in 265 of its 358 talukas, or 74 per cent of the state, amid rainfall deficit and announced relief measures.
The order banning fodder transport was issued by Latur Collector and District Disaster Management Authority Chairman Bharat Bastewad under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The ban covers various types of fodder. The order states that the fodder cannot be transported outside Latur district for commercial or any other purposes without permission.
