Ferozepur, Apr 30 (PTI) A truck driver was charred to death on Thursday after his vehicle collided head-on with another truck on the Ferozepur-Fazilka road, police said.

The incident occurred near Khalchian village when a truck heading to Fazilka collided with another truck coming from the Rajasthan side, they said.

The impact triggered a massive fire, engulfing both vehicles within minutes. The driver of the Fazilka-bound truck died on the spot, while the other driver was shifted to a hospital by the locals in a serious condition, police said.

Fireman Shubham Bajaj said five fire tenders were rushed to the spot, which brought the blaze under control after sustained efforts.

Both trucks were completely gutted in the accident, which disrupted vehicle movement on the road for hours, he said. PTI COR CHS ARI ARI
