Chennai, Jul 25 (PTI) DMK president M K Stalin on Saturday lashed out at the TVK government over “recurring” custodial deaths in Tamil Nadu, questioning Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s “silence and accountability.” Accountability and apologies appear to be missing from the Chief Minister’s dictionary, he said and sarcastically asked where Vijay was “hiding.” “When will he speak up about the ongoing custodial deaths. Accountability and apologies seem to be missing from the dictionary of the Chief Minister,” Stalin said in a post on ‘X.’ His tweet followed the death of 26-year-old N Arunachalam, a resident of Amudha Nagar in Tuticorin, who died on July 23 after he reportedly collapsed in the police lock-up in Tuticorin on July 18. Arunachalam was arrested by the police on July 17 in a prohibition case.
The former CM demanded that Vijay break his “silence” regarding the recurring custodial deaths in the state.
