Mandi (HP), Sep 5 (PTI) The BJP Member of Parliament Kananga Ranaut on Saturday said development cannot be achieved merely by preparing schemes or making suggestions, they must be implemented.
Chairing the District Development Coordination and Monitoring meeting at Mandi, the MP from Mandi Lok Sabha expressed displeasure over non-utilisation of funds and scolded officials for delay in executing development works under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).
She pointed out that around Rs 11 crore had been released for development works, but a substantial portion of the funds remained unused even after nearly two years under the MPLADS. A video of her reprimanding the authorities went viral across social media.
Ranaut criticised the officials for presenting misleading figures and offering repeated excuses. Expressing her intense frustration, she demanded that they “get the bloody job done now” instead of relying on “useless jumlas (fake promises)”.
She also pointed out that their slow progress and lackadaisical attitude left her vulnerable to criticism and mockery in national media. PTI COR BPL SHS SHS
