Srinagar: Iltija Mufti, daughter of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, on Friday wrote a letter to the administration seeking permission to visit the grave of her maternal grandfather and former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in south Kashmir on his fourth death anniversary on January 7.

Iltija, a Special Security Group protectee, has written to Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Munir Khan seeking permission to visit the grave of Sayeed, who died at AIIMS, Delhi, on January 7, 2016 after a brief illness.

In her letter, Iltija has said she and her family would like to visit the grave of her grandfather, a two-time chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, at Dara Shiku of Anantnag district in South Kashmir.

“Since the civil administration and police have stated on record repeatedly that the situation in Kashmir is normal, I don’t see why we should be denied permission to offer our tributes at his grave,” she said.

“It would be a crying shame if the administration or police denied us the right to even mourn and remember Mufti Saab on his fourth death anniversary.”

She also made a reference about Thursday’s incident when she had attempted to reach to Sayeed’s grave but was detained as she had not sought a permission for visiting Anantnag district.

Munir Khan had denied Iltija’s claim that she was detained. “The Anantnag district administration did not give clearance for her visit,” he had said.

“We also have to keep in mind that she is an SSG protectee who has to take police clearance before visiting anywhere,” Khan had added.

  1. In my eyes the dead muft mohd sayeed was a Criminal of the Highest Order when as HM of India he allowed a Genocide to take place on 3 lac kashmiri pundits in his own home state of the then j&k almost 30 years ago. He should be Disgraced posthumously. Farook was the CM of the State at that point of time; now under house arrest and very rightly so. Therefore, iltija, you and your despicable mom will have to pay for the sins of your pathetic dynasty. Your mom, instigated the kids of the Valley leading to their untimely deaths by the Indian Security Forces and the witch of a mother of yours would go to the same neutralised Terrorist’s house to Mourn? You must disown your Mother if you are a bit patriotic.
Trump got rid of qasim sulemani. No point killing him after he has done the damage. He would have been arrested.
How i wish India had taken similar preventive action against the lumpen barbarians of the Valley before they unleashed the Exodus of kashmiri pundits. Rape, Arson, Robbery, Murder, … and the Pundits fled just with their Lives. They havent been rehabilitated to their Rightful Place in the Valley even after 30 years and that too in their own country? We have niether forgotton nor forgiven. Remember it!
And you are concerned about the inhuman pukestani muslim? People who committed a Genocide on their own countrymen in east pukestan in 1971? An indian muslim can be my brother but certainly not a pukestani muslim. Remember it!
I can promise you only one thing iltija. Your dead grandfather shall Burn in Hell Eternally. No matter how many threads you tie or read the chilla day & night at his grave … Allah shall never allow your khandaan jannat ever. Your actions were/are neech. Morally, ethically, bankrupt. In the name of Democracy & Freedom of Speech you dirty lumpen elements are surviving even after having nirbhayad the Country? I have full faith in your Allah. As you sow, so shall you reap. Beware! There is still time to change the road you are on. You guys are in love with the Terrorist State of Pukestan that indulges in pushing hard drugs into India?

  2. Kashmir is beyond security now. It needs a political outreach, statesmanship, a humane approach. It will remain geographically a part of India for a thousand years, but the people are receding from the rest of us.
