New Delhi, Sep 25 (PTI) The Delhi poll body will hold special enrolment camps at colleges, universities and other educational institutions on September 29 and 30 to facilitate registration of first-time voters as part of the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls, officials said on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the office of the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer, the camps are aimed at maximising enrolment of young electors in the 18 to 25 age group.
Booth-level officers (BLOs) will be present at the camps with electoral rolls and blank Form-6, which is used for inclusion of names in the electoral roll. They will guide and assist eligible young voters in filling out the forms, the statement read.
It added that those whose names are not included in the draft electoral roll and who have completed or will complete 18 years of age by October 1, can submit Form-6 along with the required supporting documents during the camps.
The forms can also be submitted online through the Election Commission’s voter services portal and the ECINET mobile application, the CEO office said.
The Delhi election office will also hold a special camp on September 27 at all polling station locations in the national capital for enrolment of eligible electors who were left out of the draft electoral roll. The September 27 camp will be the second such exercise after the first special camp held on September 20, the statement read.
As part of the offline process, Form-6 can be submitted to Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, BLOs and designated locations, including polling stations, until September 30. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 4. PTI MSJ APL
