New Delhi, Sep 25 (PTI) The Delhi Police has augmented its Women PCR MPV fleet with 20 new vehicles, taking the total strength to 35, with each MPV to be staffed by two dedicated women personnel, officials said on Friday.
The enhanced fleet is aimed at strengthening the police’s women-safety apparatus and ensuring a visible security presence in areas frequented by women, they said.
The new Mobile Patrol Vans (MPVs) will be strategically deployed and routed in the vicinity of prominent colleges, schools, markets and busy commercial centres across the city, a senior police officer said.
The deployment is intended to facilitate a quicker and more visible police response and enhance the sense of security among women in public spaces, they added. PTI SSJ SSJ NB
