New Delhi, Apr 15 (PTI) The Lok Nayak Bhawan near Delhi’s Khan Market received a bomb threat through email on Wednesday, following which the premises were evacuated and a search operation was launched, officials said.
The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said a call regarding the threat was received at around 12.35 pm, following which a fire team was rushed to the spot.
Dog squad and bomb disposal squad were also immediately deployed to conduct a thorough search of the building, police said.
The entire premises was evacuated as a precautionary measure, a senior police officer said.
“So far, nothing suspicious has been found during the checking,” he said, adding that searches were still underway.
Authorities are also trying to trace the origin of the email and identify the sender, police added. Lok Nayak Bhawan houses many government office.
Meanwhile, Delhi Assembly received another threat email on Tuesday, the sixth so far since budget session last month, warning blast of five RDX bombs in the premises.
The entire premises was searched thoroughly by the police after the threatening email was received.
