The India Meteorological Department (IMD) initially reported that Delhi had crossed its average August rainfall of 233.1 mm earlier in the month. The figures were later revised for a specific date following an entry error, and the city was found to be below the monthly normal at that point.

The IMD forecast generally cloudy skies with light rain or drizzle during the day on Friday. Very light to light rainfall is likely during the night, while moderate rain is expected on Saturday.

The minimum temperature in Delhi on Friday settled at 28.4 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees above normal. Palam recorded a minimum of 25.6 degrees Celsius, 0.7 degrees below normal, while Lodhi Road recorded 27.8 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees above normal.

The relative humidity was 60 per cent in the morning.

Delhi’s air quality index stood at 111 at 5 pm, in the “moderate” category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.

According to the CPCB’s AQI scale, a reading between 0 and 50 is considered “good”, 51-100 “satisfactory”, 101-200 “moderate”, 201-300 “poor”, 301-400 “very poor” and 401-500 “severe”. PTI MSJ SGV MSJ MPL MPL

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
