New Delhi, May 14 (PTI) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday said Delhi CMO will directly handle and resolve complaints related to DM, SDM and Sub Registrar offices.

After a review meeting of Delhi government’s public grievances management system (PGMS) portal, she said complaint boxes will be kept for people to submit their complaints related to services provided by district magistrate (DM), sub divisional magistrate (SDM), additional district magistrate (ADM) and sub registrar offices.

The chief minister told reporters that she received several complaints about the SDM, ADM and sub-registrar offices in recent days.

“People can send their grievances directly to me through these complaints boxes,” she said, asserting that corruption will not be tolerated in any department.

The Delhi government is firm on resolving public issues and update the PGMS system to and make it more accessible to the public, she said “The mechanism should be such that even the common people can get his grievances addressed simply by dialling a number, through WhatsApp or any other app. Every mode of communicating grievances should be available so they can raise their voice before the government,” she told reporters here.

Terming the public grievance redressal mechanism under the previous government a “failure”, Gupta stated that the complaints at the time either did not reach the government or remained unaddressed.

The chief minister further assured that the BJP-led Delhi government is working on ensuring an updated, integrated grievance redressal system to hear and solve people’s problems.

The review meeting on pending PGMS complaints was also addressed by Chief Secretary Dharmendra along with heads of various departments including revenue, Delhi Police, DDA, education, PWD, social welfare, environment, health, family welfare, transport.

She emphasised that pending complaint will not be acceptable in any department and sought action taken reports and resolve them on a priority basis.

The CM also instructed heads of departments to regularly monitor pending complaints and ensure effective resolution of grievances on PGMS portal as a good governance exercise. PTI VIT NB
