Gurugram, Oct 29 (PTI) A couple and their daughter were killed, and their two other children were seriously injured when their car rammed into the rear of a stationary bus on the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway near Sohna early Thursday, police said.
A senior police officer, citing preliminary investigation, said that the man who drove the car was identified as Boom Prasad, a resident of Rajokri in Delhi. He was a taxi driver.
The accident took place when the family was returning home after visiting Balaji temple.
Police claimed that the car was moving at high speed on the expressway when the driver lost control near Lohtaki village, causing the crash. They said that nearly half the car wedged into the bus.
The fire brigade and police arrived at the scene and initiated relief and rescue operations to rescue the people trapped inside the damaged car.
Both children, who were critically injured, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said. The accident also slowed traffic briefly during the rescue operation, they added.
“The couple and their daughter died on the spot. Two children were injured critically and were admitted to the hospital. A further probe is underway”, the officer said. PTI COR KSI
