New Delhi, Aug 28 (PTI) A Janmashtami celebration in Delhi’s Dwarka will combine traditional Krishna-themed performances with AI-powered installations, interactive games and a live “bhajan clubbing” session, with organisers expecting more than 50,000 visitors.
The 36th Shri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav, organised by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS), a socio-spiritual organisation founded by spiritual leader Ashutosh Maharaj, will be held on September 3 and 4 at DDA Ground, Sector 10, the organisation said in a statement.
The event will feature an AI pavilion with hologram kiosks showing a 3D representation of Krishna responding to questions around contemporary issues, along with a face-swap photo booth, a “Selfie with Krishna” installation and motion-sensing games based on episodes from Krishna’s life, it said.
The organisers said the technology-driven attractions were aimed at engaging young people while addressing concerns such as digital addiction, anger and burnout.
A live “bhajan clubbing” session by DJJS’s in-house ensemble Eternal Bliss will blend devotional compositions with live rock-band instrumentation, according to the statement.
More than 250 performers will stage 15 dance ballets and theatrical productions depicting episodes from Krishna’s life, drawing on classical and folk forms such as Odissi, Chhau, Kathak and Rajasthani dance, the statement read.
It added that another 10-minute production, “Jan Gan Man Mein Krishna”, will bring together regional traditions associated with Krishna from Braj, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Bengal and Assam.
The 3.75-lakh-square-foot venue will feature a stage more than 100 feet wide, nearly 3,000 square feet of LED screens and 8K 3D projections with real-time visual effects, DJJS said.
The programme will also include Vedic chanting, interactive Krishna-themed installations and discourses by the organisation’s swamis and sadhvis.
