Dehradun, Sep 25 (PTI) Two days after an attempted abduction of a woman on Dehradun’s Sahastradhara Road, with suspects still at large, police on Friday said that dedicated teams have been deployed and assured that they would be arrested soon.
According to police, three teams have been formed, and CCTV footage is being examined to identify the accused and locate the car.
The incident occurred early Wednesday morning at Nalapani Chowk when 45-year-old Sushma Verma was returning home on her scooter after dropping her daughter off for the college bus.
Suddenly, a black car pulled up near her, from which youths stepped out and attempted to abduct her.
When the woman raised an alarm, people, including sanitation workers, rushed to the scene and beat the abductors, forcing them to flee in panic. A video of the incident has also surfaced on social media, showing two youths getting out of the car, stopping the woman on the scooter, and attempting to drag her.
Later, the youths are seen abandoning the woman and running back towards the car. Police said a case has been registered and efforts are underway to arrest the accused, who are believed to be four. PTI DPT KSI
