Amaravati, Oct 28 (PTI) The Telangana government on Wednesday said it will extend full support to Andhra Pradesh in restoration works as Cyclone Arnab left a trail of destruction with uprooted trees, electric poles and damaged roads.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka spoke to Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister G Ravi Kumar over the phone and enquired about the impact of Cyclone Arnab and the damage caused by it.

“Telangana has assured Andhra Pradesh of its full support in cyclone relief operations and power restoration, with assistance in the form of personnel and essential materials to be provided as required,” Kumar said in an official release.

He briefed Vikramarka on the damage reported so far, ongoing relief and restoration operations and restoring normalcy in affected areas.

He also outlined the steps being taken to restore electricity supply and ensure the safety of people in cyclone-affected regions, the release said.

Kumar thanked the Telangana government and Vikramarka for their support and expressed appreciation for the neighbouring state’s willingness to extend resources for restoration operations. PTI MS KH
