Thane, May 10 (PTI) A 35-year-old mentally unwell woman was rescued by a police beat marshal after she jumped into a lake in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, an official said.

The woman jumped into Roadpali Ganpati Visarjan Lake in the afternoon, resulting in someone alerting the control room, following which the message was relayed to a team of beat marshals, the Kalamboli police station official said.

“Constables Akash Wankhede and Sagar Mali reached the spot in three minutes. Mali jumped into the lake and rescued the woman, identified as Anita Nande. She has been hospitalised and her condition is stable. We have been told that she is mentally unwell,” the official added. PTI COR BNM
