Beed, May 14 (PTI) A 50-year-old police constable died after a severe bout of choking while having dinner in Maharashtra’s Beed district, an official said on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at a roadside ‘dhabha’ on the Parli Vaijnath-Ambajogai road.
The cop, Devendra Gujar, was posted in Wardha district and had come to Beed for some work.
According to police, Gujar began coughing uncontrollably after taking the first bite. He then suffered a cardiac arrest and died, they said.
Following a post-mortem on Wednesday, Gujar’s body was handed over to his family. PTI COR NR
