Panaji, Jun 6 (PTI) The Congress will launch a political and organisational campaign from June 18, coinciding with Goa Revolution Day, to strengthen the party and prepare for future electoral battles in the coastal state, senior leaders said on Saturday.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by AICC secretary and Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakare here, they added.

Addressing a press conference, Thakare said the party would use the historic occasion of ‘Kranti Din’ to unveil its future strategy, announce key organisational restructuring measures and intensify its campaign against the BJP government.

“All internal discussions and differences within the party have been amicably resolved. The Congress is united, focused and committed to strengthening the organisation across Goa,” he said.

The reconstitution of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee executive and other organisational bodies will soon be announced as part of a comprehensive restructuring exercise, Thakre added.

“Extensive deliberations were held on the party’s future roadmap, organisational expansion and preparations for upcoming political challenges. The party will launch a series of programmes to highlight public issues and expose the failures of the BJP government,” he said.

The meeting was attended by AICC co-in charge Dr Anjali Nimbalkar, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, and working presidents M K Shaikh, Altone D’Costa and Carlos Alvares Ferreira, among others.

Chodankar said the party would organise a convention to energise grassroots workers and strengthen the organisation.

“The Congress is committed to making Goa free from misgovernance, corruption and anti-people policies,” he said while urging leaders and workers to intensify public outreach. PTI RPS BNM
