New Delhi: An inquiry committee formed to probe the death of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa has found four people, including her close associate V.K. Sasikala, “at fault” and has recommended an investigation.
The Arumugasamy Inquiry Committee tabled its report in the Tamil Nadu assembly Tuesday, and “questioned the roles” of Sasikala, Jayalalithaa’s doctor K.S. Sivakumar, the then health secretary J. Radhakrishnan and former health minister C. Vijayabaskar.
The state government had formed the committee to investigate the late chief minister’s hospitalisation from September 22, 2016.
The report also revealed that multiple people questioned during the probe said Jayalalithaa died on 4 December and not on 5 December, 2016 as declared.
The report questioned why the late chief minister was not taken abroad for treatment though Dr Richard Beale was prepared to do so.
