Amaravati, Apr 30 (PTI) The State Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday approved the construction of a new Andhra Bhavan in New Delhi and cleared several projects in the greenfield capital city of Amaravati, among others.
The Cabinet approved Andhra Pradesh Markfed, availing a fresh working capital loan of Rs 1,800 crore for procuring paddy in the Rabi season and meeting other requirements.
It also approved the transfer of this loan to the Andhra Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd (APSCSCL) under the inter-corporation mechanism, in addition to the existing Rs 12,053 crore funds.
“The Cabinet approved the proposal to build a new Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi on over 11 acres of land at Rs 124 crore,” a press release said.
It decided to entrust the construction to the National Buildings Construction Corporation, with a mandate to reflect Andhra Pradesh’s culture and traditions.
The Cabinet approved over Rs 443 crore for the construction of a flood protection wall on the right bank of the Krishna River in Amaravati under three revised packages.
It permitted the Amaravati Development Corporation Ltd (ADCL) to invite fresh tenders for the project.
The Cabinet approved Rs 2,540 crore for glass cladding, crown, atrium, canopy skylight, column corridor and other works of the General Administration Department (GAD) towers in the Amaravati government complex.
It allowed tenders to be invited under the design-and-build lump sum contract system.
Similarly, it approved Rs 1,208 crore for the construction of the shell and core of Amaravati Quantum Valley twin towers T1 and T2, including the invitation of tenders under the same contract system.
The Cabinet cleared nearly Rs 800 crore for the construction of a spire, parking ring, roof, approach bridges over Palavagu (rivulet) and related civil works of the legislature building in Amaravati, along with approval for inviting tenders.
It approved Rs 580 crore for laying out roads, canals, sewage systems, reuse water lines, avenue plantation works, and others in Zone-11 at Undavalli village under the land pooling scheme.
The Cabinet approved Rs 1,180 crore for laying the balance 220 KV EHV lines and rerouting underground cables within the limits of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) from N10–E1 junction to N13–E1 junction.
It decided to increase house construction assistance from Rs 2.85 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh per unit under the one-time settlement (OTS) scheme for tribal and non-tribal evacuees of the Polavaram Project.
It approved increasing the value of house sites from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh for evacuees opting to construct houses under OTS outside rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) colonies.
The Cabinet approved the allocation of 600 acres of land to DRDO at Puttaparthi in Sri Sathya Sai district for a defence facility.
It approved Rs 1,587 crore for the construction of three fishing harbours at Budigatlapalem in Srikakulam district, Pudimadaka in Anakapalli district and Kothapatnam in Prakasam district.
The Cabinet approved the allocation of up to two acres of land in Vizianagaram, Prakasam, Kurnool, East Godavari, Eluru and Parvatipuram Manyam districts for the construction of TDP offices.
