Thane, Jun 22 (PTI) Maharashtra city planning agency, CIDCO, has formally transferred key Navi Mumbai railway infrastructure, including three prominent stations, to the Central Railway.

According to the official release issued on Monday, CIDCO’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Ashwin Mudgal formally handed over the Targhar, Bamandongari, and Kharkopar railway stations, along with their associated infrastructure, to the Central Railway officials.

Thane MP Naresh Mhaske, who is also a member of the Railway Coordination Committee, was present on the occasion.

The critical railway assets include station buildings, forecourts, commuter parking facilities, electrical substations, telecom systems, and other associated infrastructure.

“CIDCO has played a significant role in developing railway infrastructure in Navi Mumbai. The transfer of these railway stations and associated infrastructure to Central Railway marks an important milestone that will contribute towards more efficient station management,” said Mudgal.

Following this infrastructure transfer, all station operations, routine maintenance, passenger safety protocols, and service management will be undertaken by the Central Railway. PTI COR NSK
