Raipur, May 4 (PTI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday said the “historic mandate” received by the BJP and the party-led NDA in assembly polls in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry reflects the strength of Indian democracy, public trust and the spirit of nationalism.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma noted that the BJP’s performance in West Bengal, where the saffron outfit appears poised to come to power for the first time, reflects a victory of nationalism, good governance over appeasement and anarchy.

In a post on ‘X’, Sai congratulated the people of West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry, describing them as vigilant, patriotic and development-oriented.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the vigilant, patriotic, and development-oriented people of West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry for the historic mandate bestowed upon the Bharatiya Janata Party and the NDA,” the CM said.

The BJP Chief Minister insisted the poll outcome shows voters’ deep trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“This victory stands as a shining symbol of the strength of Indian democracy, public trust, and the spirit of nationalism. The mandate in Assam and Puducherry once again, along with the historic success achieved in West Bengal, serves as a clear manifestation of the public’s unwavering faith in the resolute leadership, good governance, and resolve for a ‘Developed India’ championed by our illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji,” Sai asserted.

This mandate represents a decisive triumph of development, good governance, and national interest over the politics of appeasement, corruption, and fear. The historic victory in Bengal is the result of tireless hard work, sacrifice, and determination of the dedicated party workers, the CM noted.

“All dedicated workers, office-bearers, and elected representatives have played an integral role in this historic victory, guided by the strong organizational leadership of BJP president Nitin Nabin ji, and the expert guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji,” Sai stated.

Sai’s deputy and party colleague Sharma, in a statement, said the BJP’s performance in the states of Assam, West Bengal and Union Territory of Puducherry, has infused fresh energy in workers across the country, including in Chhattisgarh.

“This victory is a triumph of nationalism and good governance over appeasement and disorder. From Bengal to the Northeast, people have sent a clear message that the country’s progress is secure under BJP’s leadership,” the deputy CM affirmed.

Sharma emphasised the BJP has broken its traditional image of being confined to the Hindi heartland and expanded towards other regions, including the North-east, calling it a historic political development.

He predicted the election results in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry will have a far-reaching impact on Indian politics.

Chhattisgarh BJP president Kiran Deo termed the poll results a victory of development-oriented politics under the leadership of PM Modi.

Deo noted the BJP is set to form its first-ever government in West Bengal, marking a new chapter in its political history.

He said the verdict in Bengal was a true tribute to Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJP’s predecessor) founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee and stressed the people of the eastern state have endorsed his vision of “one nation, one Constitution, one symbol and one pradhan (PM).” Deo said the BJP is set to win Assam for a third consecutive time, reflecting the people’s faith in its governance and signalling that the Northeast firmly supports the mainstream development agenda.

Referring to Puducherry, the Chhattisgarh BJP president noted the strong performance of the saffron outfit and its allies in the Union Territory reflected triumph of service and commitment towards people. PTI TKP RSY
